Cœur-joie started one year ago as a solo project by Martin Martin Meilhan-Bordes (under the name Marti Martinsky) who is now accompanied by Paul Rannaud, Milia Colombani and Adrien Berthe, who already played with Martin in the bands Bootchy Temple and Sex Sux. Influenced by indie pop as well as French singers such as Brigitte Fontaine and Alain Bashung, Cœur-joie conjurs up a distinctive sound by mixing jangly guitars with delicate French poetry, filled with metaphors and just a pinch of oddness.
